  Right now there isn't a crack that I know of for base version lw8. There is a crack for lw.7.5 base with no updates, but you can't use any plugins that you have purchased without the purple buddy.
  
  I am on LW 8.3 with my purple buddy, and since I have had him since version 7.5 he is getting a little worn.
